It started with a soufflé cup set in a plexiglass slanted holder.
In the early ’90s, Brad Fink was working in St. Louis street shops — long before ergonomics were part of the industry conversation. Like many tattooers at the time, he adapted to what was available. By placing a simple soufflé cup in a slanted holder, it created a better angle for dipping, easier ink access, and smoother mag loading than standard flat, vertical caps allowed.
Over the next 35+ years — from co-owning Iron Age Tattoo in St. Louis and Daredevil Tattoo in New York to tattooing live on The Late Show with David Letterman — Brad became known for bold Japanese-inspired work, heavy saturation, and tattoos built to last.
But through all of it, that slanted setup never changed.
Decades later, that instinct evolved into intention.
FINK Caps™ are the refined version of that original slanted concept — now a patented slanted oval ink cap designed to improve wrist position, visibility, and simplicity.
They hold the equivalent of a #16 cap — but the geometry works smarter.
