Back in 1961 as a 19 year old, I answered an ad in the local newspaper, a photographer required a photographic model willing to have their eyebrows shaved, that I could live with. I had no idea just how much my life was about to change. Within a year, I was persuaded to get heavily tattooed and given the name Cindy Ray, with the prospect of being on show as the tattooed lady. Harry Bartram, the photographer, then branched out into a tattoo supply business, even having had a machine in the Cindy Ray range of equipment. Until it was released, I had no idea it existed, nor whom actually put it together.
After 50+ years of actual tattooing myself, I am extremely happy that my dear friends from Lucky's Tattoo Supply, Jimmy Whitlock & Dre Rock have created a tattoo machine that I am very proud to put my name to, and gave me the opportunity for my input, unlike all those years ago. I hope all that purchase my machines or prints have many years ahead creating great work.
Thank you all,
Bev (aka 'Cindy Ray')
